Well the bees have been busy in the warm spell we’ve had in April! So much so that we needed a little extra help! So “Obeewan” has now joined the beekeeping team to help out!
We have needed to make up some nice new boxes and some new frames. We have also found that our old timber hive stand was in imminent danger of collapse so have decided to replace this with solid concrete slab bases. It’s a pity that Obeewan couldn’t have used a little of “the force” to move the concrete slabs into place!! He was too busy eating honey so the beekeeper had to do it himself! To make management easier we have also set up a small storage unit near to the hives so we can store all the beekeeping bits and pieces. Our apiary site now looks quite different!
