Memories intact

Our bees have survived the long winter with their memories intact. We hoped they would be okay as we’d insulated the hive and made sure they had plenty of food so death through starvation wouldnt be an issue. This was our first peep at them on sunny Saturday. The foraging bees were out and very active, their legs laden with bright yellow pollen as they returned home to the hive. In areas of high pesticide use its been shown that bees are losing their memories and are therefore not able to communicate to each other via the waggle dance where all the forage is. We and the bees are lucky up here as we live surrounded by wild and uncultivated land.
